I’m Shaymar Higgs — a creative civic builder designing human-centered systems where art, entrepreneurship, and community thrive.
For nearly two decades, I've helped schools, cities, libraries, and nonprofits build creative infrastructure, turning access into economic opportunity for the people who show up.
I've built public-facing creative spaces and entrepreneurship frameworks that turn imagination into opportunity for individuals and the institutions that serve them.
Artist • Community Builder • Conversation Architect"I create spaces, tools, and conversations that help people grow into more creative, connected, and self-aware versions of themselves."
Makerspace & Workforce Development
I help organizations launch fabrication and entrepreneurship programs (laser engraving, 3D printing, hands-on curriculum), including workforce partnerships like the American Job Center Community Network and our educational institution partners.
American Job Center grand opening, hosted inside Third SPACE LoungeCreative Ecosystem Design
I help libraries, nonprofits, and municipalities design creative spaces that build access, dignity, and belonging, the way I built The SPACE Free Art For All, and its second site, Third SPACE Lounge, into a community anchor in Greenbelt.

The SPACE Free Art For All | Greenbelt, MD | Founder & Executive Director • A drop-in creative hub and workforce-partner site, built from nothing into a cultural anchor, home to the Artrepreneurship & Fabrication Department Labs.
Cosca Regional Skateboard Park | Clinton, MD | Community Organizer & Project Lead • Led the project from petitioning and advocacy through fundraising and design, embedding youth voice and community art into permanent public infrastructure.
Emerald City Pride | Greenbelt, MD | Director, via The SPACE Free Art For All • Now in its fourth year. In 2025, it grew from a single event into a summer-long "Summer of Love": a season of programming running June through August. The 2026 edition (June 27–August 2) includes a makeup workshop, a vogue workshop, drag bingo, a full-day Pride Parade & Festival at Roosevelt Center, a community bonfire, and a community screening of The Wiz.
Visual art, design research, and conversation tools exploring creativity and connection, including Love Wins™, a card series for meaningful conversation, and Real Men Grow™.
Beyond the Work
Love Wins™ Built after my own healing journey, when I got tired of conversations that felt polite but shallow. A conversation card game: no points, no winners, just presence and truth. Decks for friends, family, dating, and deeper.
Real Men Grow™ "Growth is not a metaphor. It's a practice." A creative collective for people building the next version of themselves, in public and in practice: accountability, emotional intelligence, economic ownership, and hands-in-the-soil growth, through the Artrepreneurship Framework, Love Wins, and collective gardening meetups.
